We are recruiting for our client BAE Systems, for a Systems Engineer, to work on the MIDAS Mission management system.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible to the MIDAS Architecture Group Lead to lead elements of the engineering planning associated with Requirements, System Design, Software Development and Test & Qualification for exploitations of the MIDAS system,
- Support the engineering planning activities
- Liaise with MIDAS exploitation customers
- Concept Development
- Requirements Capture/Management
- System Definition/Design
- Safety & Security
- Supervision and support to junior team members.
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:-
- Integration within a delivery programme for Systems and Software
- Working knowledge of the Engineering Lifecycle and associated governance
- Knowledge or awareness of Model Based Engineering tools (Cameo)
- Agile methodology supported by the Atlassian toolset would be advantageous.
- Mission management and Autonomy fields
- Requirements Management (DOORS)
- System Definition (SysML/CAMEO)
- Data Modelling
- System/Software (SysML/UML)
- Software Coding (C++/Misra C++)
- Auto Code Generation
- System /Software Re-Use the candidate should be able to demonstrate
- Willingness to tackle difficult problems with a steep learning curve.

Desirable:
- Experience of different stages of the Product Lifecycle - Concept Design through to Integration and Test
- Development of processes, methods and toolsets used in the product development process
- Proven Ability of more than one Complex Systems, System of Systems, Air Vehicle System programme or project
- Articulating statements of work and planning and delivery of activities to meet schedules
- Working in a multidisciplinary environment influencing adjacent Engineering disciplines and other Stakeholders
