Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer -(Simulink Displays, Controls, and Data Management Design Development Engineer) for a contract role within their Defence division. This position involves extensive use of Simulink to develop and manage systems for military and security applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing Simulink models for displays and controls
- Designing data management systems to support defence projects
- Creating and maintaining systems health monitoring solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
- Producing detailed technical documentation and reports
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Simulink
- Understanding of military and defence systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain Full SC clearance
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in producing technical documentation
- Ability to work four days on-site in Warton
Skills:
- The status of the Dreadnought Programme is UK sovereign; applications can therefore only be accepted from sole UK Nationals (Foreign Nationals and those holding Dual Citizenship may not be permitted to work on this Programme).
- Degree or equivalent experience or qualification in relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical / Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science).
- Demonstrable knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work.
- At least 2 to 5 years' experience in Display, Health & Data Management, preferably in a marine or aerospace application, or in a similar engineering or technology focussed industry.
- Competence in Mathworks tools to apply Model-based systems engineering principles, tools and techniques (primarily Simulink and its Test).
- Capable in Microsoft Office packages and an ability to develop competence with more specialist toolsets as necessary.
- Ability to apply previous learning and experience to offer guidance, support and coaching to others
- Ability to effectively research system design data and apply to complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills
