Requirement

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Test Manager to join an ongoing IT project with an immediate testing requirement.

The role is primarily based onsite, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

This is a fast-paced environment where you will be required to manage and deliver high-quality testing quickly and efficiently to tight deadlines.

The project you will be supporting is completing the SIT stage of testing and is moving into UAT and OAT testing. You will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing all aspects of testing. You work collaboratively with subject matter experts from the supplier, operational and end user teams, including finance, HR and technical colleagues.

The role will require a 'hands-on' approach, where you will need to closely support colleagues with limited previous testing expertise in the execution of testing activities.

Upon successful completion of this testing, the solution will be deployed in the live production environment for operational use by the end users.

The testing will be manually executed, there is no requirement for the use of test automation tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Execution: Plan, execute, and manage all phases of testing, including user acceptance testing and operational acceptance testing.
  • Test Team Leadership: Lead and manage the test team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.
  • Test Environment Management: Ensure the availability and integrity of test environments.
  • Defect Management: Oversee the defect management process, ensuring timely identification, severity prioritisation, reporting, and resolution of defects.
  • Test Reporting and Metrics: Provide regular test reports and metrics to project stakeholders, highlighting progress and risks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Rapid Delivery: Adapt to a fast-paced environment and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Existing Process Integration: Quickly integrate into an existing project and adapt to the current teams working practices.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a hands-on Test Manager in complex IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality testing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working on projects with immediate testing requirements.

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Test Manager).
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Unit4 Agresso or People XD products would be highly advantageous
