The newly appointed Trust IT Manager has approached Hays seeking a Senior IT Technician to join the trust on a permanent basis, becoming an integral part of the IT team and wider trust support team. The trust's head office is based in Preston, and they currently have 1 secondary school and 7 primary schools as part of the trust, all based in the Preston area. The trust has a strong vision to work together to overall provide an excellent quality of education for pupils, ensuring that all individuals are valued and loved and allowing all to strive for excellence. Your new roleReporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support across the trust, supporting both pupils and staff and overall contributing to the excellent teaching and learning present across the trust. On a daily basis, this will require visits to different schools which are part of the trust, across the Preston area. When on site, you will provide day to day support, which will include supporting with hardware, software and bespoke technologies, as well as supporting the central team in the delivery of IT projects. As the trust centralises their IT provision, this work will therefore involve the implementation of new systems and processes, training staff and end users on new systems and also ensuring the continuous operation of the helpdesk. The day-to-day support will include supporting infrastructure such as servers, switching, cloud-based platforms and telephony systems. You will be reporting on any required maintenance, upgrades and updates to management, as well as the ordering and procurement of new IT equipment as and when required. As Senior IT Technician, you will also be working closely with the IT Manager around cybersecurity as this continues to be a hot topic in the education sector.
