Location: Hesketh Bank, Preston

Salary: £31,288 - £33,358 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time, 39 hours per week

The Role:

Our Home provides a psychologically informed, therapeutic environment to support young people with complex trauma-based behaviour. Our service integrates Residential Care, Education, and Health support to create a comprehensive care experience.

As a Team Leader, you will collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the daily operations of the home, working directly with children and young people in a residential setting. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Line Management: Provide direct line management to a small team of Childcare Workers, ensuring high standards of care and professional development.
  • Care Planning: Develop and implement personalised care and risk plans in partnership with referring authorities, therapeutic services, senior management, and educational settings.
  • Best Practice: Model and promote best practices in high-quality care for young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive development.
  • Legislation & Compliance: Stay informed on children's homes legislation, regulations, and the Ofsted inspection framework to support the safe and effective delivery of care.

The Person:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Significant experience working within a childcare setting, ideally in residential care.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in electronic care records and auditing processes.
    • Excellent administration and IT skills.
    • Strong communication skills with exceptional literacy and numeracy.
  • Knowledge:
    • Thorough understanding of current childcare legislation, particularly relating to children in care.
    • Working knowledge of the Ofsted Inspection Framework for Children's Homes and Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
