PURCHASING ASSISTANT/STOCK CONTROLLER, PRESTON, UP TO £35KAn exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant/Stock Controller has arisen with my client, a dynamic family run business who have been established over 90 years. They are seeking a hardworking, energetic individual with a can-do attitude to join their business. This is a real dedicated team environment where everybody is respected.Duties will include;

  • Design, plan and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies
  • Work with suppliers, manufacturers and internal departments to ensure that the business has the right supplies, at the right time and at the right price
  • Search for and maintain a database of approved suppliers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and use negotiation skills to ensure the business gets the best pricing
  • Work with customers and supply chain partners to plan and book logistics to ensure the products gets to customers promptly and in it's best condition
  • Track, measure and analyse material expenditures

What you will need to succeed in the role;

  • Hands on experience in budgeting and purchasing management.
  • Problem solving skills with a strong analytical mindset able to find solutions to complex multifaceted supply issues.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills, able to drive discussions to the best outcomes for the business.
  • A great communicator, responsive to deadlines and understanding internal needs, as well as creating great rapport with colleagues, team members and suppliers.
  • Pride in what you do for yourself and the teams around you
  • Somebody willing to muck in
