Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to operate and maintain the main fleet stores and the surrounding depots located within Lancashire. Primarily based at Bamber Bridge Preston but providing support to outlying depots located in Lancashire.The stores role's primary functions consist of parts and stock ordering via telephone and email, receiving and booking in of goods, stock rotation, identifying and locating of stock in the stores. Dealing with account queries from depots, suppliers, and internal accounts. Unload/load vehicles of goods and parts using MH equipment and forklift truck.Speak with Technicians and supervisors with regards to parts ordering and obtaining technical information from suppliers and suppling tools from stock. Logging of tooling issued to workshop and log tools back into stock.Covering aspects of colleague's and manager's job roles during periods of absence.Accountabilities/Responsibilities• Obtaining spare parts at the best price from suppliers• Accepting parts deliveries and checking off stock against orders placed• Issuing stock to jobs and remedying problem issues• Stock taking of parts• Provide input and feedback into day-to-day stores operations and stores issues.• Liaise with Technicians and supervisors, keeping them updated on parts availability and progress.• Book waste items for collection when needed• Participate in teams calls when requested/needed• Stores/ work area housekeeping ensuring are clean work area at all times• Ability and willingness to be a flexible, pro-active and effective team member and work under limited supervision• Undertaking duties in relation to building security, health and safety- including opening and closing routines and key holding• Covering aspects of colleague's and manager's job roles during periods of absence
