Our client, a Special Needs School, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join their team. If you have a passion for providing nutritious meals and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the students at our client's school receive healthy and delicious meals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, and adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Chef in preparing and cooking meals for the studentsServing meals to students and staffEnsuring that the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and tidy at all timesFollowing strict hygiene and safety proceduresAssisting with stock control and ordering suppliesAdapting meals to meet dietary requirements and allergiesSupporting the Chef in menu planning and recipe development

Requirements:

An enhanced DBS certificate is essential for this role, due to the nature of the schoolPrevious experience in a similar role is highly desirableKnowledge of food hygiene and health and safety guidelinesAbility to work well as part of a team and follow instructionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsFlexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritiesA genuine passion for providing nutritious and delicious meals

Working Hours and Terms:

This position is Monday to Friday, from 9am to 2.30pm, and operates during term time only. The initial contract is until the end of the December term, with the potential for extension. There is also a possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right candidate.
