Spencer Clarke Group is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school to recruit a dedicated Pastoral Head of Year for a 1-year fixed-term contract.

About the Role:

As Pastoral Head of Year, you will play a crucial role in supporting the personal development, well-being, and academic progress of students. You'll lead on pastoral care, ensuring students are fully supported emotionally and socially, while helping to maintain a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and supporting students' attendance, behavior, and academic performance
  • Acting as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff on all pastoral issues
  • Developing and implementing support plans for students with additional needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to promote student well-being
  • Leading assemblies and year group events focused on personal development and school values

About You:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in students' lives. You will need:

  • Experience working in a pastoral or educational support role within a school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • The ability to manage and resolve conflict sensitively and effectively
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to student care, with a keen understanding of safeguarding practices

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
