Passenger Transport Manager

A client within the Public Sector based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for a Passenger Transport Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a transportation environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to work with all transport operators and stakeholders, develop public transport schemes and bids for funding and develop our Enhanced Partnership approach.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• contracted bus service provision, mainstream school transport, public transport developments, bus stations and interchanges, managing the English concessionary travel scheme, ticketing initiatives and rail developments.
• lead a diverse team and will work closely with colleagues, councillors and key stakeholders to help shape the council's public transport offer against the Highway and Transport Strategy, Bus Service Improvement Plan and emerging Local Transport Plan.
• work with neighbouring authorities to align activity and manage the joint Concessionary Travel Scheme.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require experience in Passenger Transport ideally operational experience in transporting with bus and rail.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• experience in a similar role
• management experience

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering 30 - 35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
