Procurement ManagerPreston £60,000 + £70,000 + Benefits
Our client is a growing FMCG manufacturing business, currently looking to appoint a Procurement Manager to manage their raw material and packaging spend. This is a standalone, end-to-end procurement role in a fast-paced production environment and will suit an experienced Procurement professional who is looking for a hands-on, results-driven role. The role is Monday to Friday and is based on site.
Key responsibilities:
- Assuming full commercial responsibility for raw materials and packaging spend
- Delivering savings and added value through effective procurement
- Identifying and onboarding new suppliers, leading commercial negotiations
- Managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvements across the supply chain to add value
- Developing appropriate sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging to ensure a commercial advantage as well as securing future material supply and availability
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of purchasing direct materials / commodities / packaging within a FMCG / Food Manufacturing environment
- Experience of commodity procurement, tracking commodity markets and understanding cost drivers
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills
- Proven track record in delivering cost downs and savings
- Excellent analytical skills
