Your new companyMy client is a reputable family business who have been a leading manufacturer in their field for over 100 years. Due to continued growth and business success, they are looking to welcome an experienced Production Planner into their friendly team in Preston. This company offers flexible working, as well as the option to work 4 days a week!

Role Overview:This Production Planner role entails supporting everyday planning and stock control, as well as assisting the Demand Planning Manager in implementing a new software package.Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning & Stock Control
  • Produce the weekly Production Plan using demand planning software, an ERP system, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Amend plans as required, reporting on shortfalls and discrepancies.
  • Verify work order confirmations, ensuring accuracy in raw material and packaging quantities.
  • Coordinate and implement annual and perpetual inventory counts, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks and reconciliation of stocks, and regular inventory counts and audits.
  • Create new items within MRP, including packaging specifications and batch filling records.
  • Learn and assist in the implementation of new software, producing work instructions and process flows.
  • Develop Demand Planning as a tool for further realisation of the S&OP process.
  • Assist the Demand Planning Manager with reports and other tasks as required.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in production planning and working with data management systems with a good knowledge of MRP / forecasting software
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain and planning theory.
  • Experience in inventory control and stock management systems.
  • Excellent data analysis and IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to learn quickly.
