Maintenance Engineer + Night Shift + Sunday - Thursday + £39,936 salary

Our manufacturing client based in Preston are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join them in a permanent capacity on the night shift.

The Maintenance Engineer will be accountable for the overall repair and maintenance of the equipment across departments.

Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for maintenance and repair of all equipment, plant and electrical supplies across the whole site in line with legislative requirements across the whole site.
  • This role will include planned preventative maintenance, repairs to plant machinery and changeover of plant equipment.
  • Colleagues, departmental managers and external contractors/ suppliers and line operatives
  • To maintain the site electrical equipment to ensure it is always in good working condition
  • Diagnosis of electrical and mechanical failure and undertake repairs if necessary.
  • You will be required to order parts and support other departments if needed, this is a hands-on role.
  • Have experience of project work including development and commissioning of new plant
  • Covering the night shift the role will include planned preventative maintenance, repairs to plant machinery and changeover of plant equipment
  • Ideally you will be a multi skilled engineer but must be time served in an engineering/ electrical discipline
  • Some basic electrical skills would be an advantage as well as previous experience of testing instrumentation, fault finding, pumping systems process improvements
  • Key skills with diagnostic analysis, trouble shooting and repairs to electrical control systems incorporating PLC, other micro-processor control and network of automated plant AC DC and servo drives reactive breakdowns
  • Assist with the installation of new plant and equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is safe to operate
  • Monitor equipment on an ongoing basis
  • To ensure that all health and safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health & safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance & sickness & absence
  • To carry out appraisal/ development reviews of direct reports
