H9 Technical are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis for a nuclear business based in Lancashire.

This role will be Outside of IR35, for an initial 6-month period, with a competitive hourly rate of pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce 3D models using Solidworks 3D CAD
  • Carrying out design works and document management including GA and detailed production drawings.
  • Ability to check drawings and provide feedback for best practices in line with our design and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage the flow of design information and coordination of all drawings.
  • Experience of advising on material thicknesses, cost optimisation, and simplifying designs at an early design stage to improve costing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines without compromising safety, quality, or cost budgets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (not essential)
  • High level of expertise with Solidworks
  • Experience of working in highly regulated sectors such as Nuclear/Oil & Gas/Chemical
  • Knowledge of special purpose machinery design and material testing
