Mechanical Installation Engineer required. Our client has over 30 years of experience installing, maintaining and repairing a huge range of high-quality diesel-powered generators, from 6.8kVA to 1250kVA. This is for a range of projects including Data Centres, Sports Stadiums and high end domestic/ Social housing. They are now looking for a Mechanical Installation Engineer in the Preston/ Manchester area due to the growth of the business.

Successful candidates will work at various sites mechanically installing generators into plant rooms. Under supervision in the installation team, candidates will install fuel systems, BSP pipes, pumps, exhaust systems and more. Training will be provided.

Mechanical Installation Engineer Position Overview
  • Work at various sites mechanically installing generators into plant rooms.
  • Installation of fuel systems including tanks and BSP fuel pipe work, fill points, pumps, float switches etc
  • Installation of fire drop valve systems and associated ancillaries
  • Installation of exhaust systems including welding and lagging of silencers and pipe work
  • Installation and manufacture of ducting for air flow requirements
  • Installation of louvers, static and motorised
  • Installation of cable tray and associated cables
  • Performing Welding, fabricating, painting and civil works
Mechanical Installation Engineer Position Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role, ideally in a recognised apprenticeship but not essential
  • Experience of Welding, fabricating & installing plant
  • Relevant City & Guilds / NVQ Engineering qualifications advantageous.
  • Full Driving Licence
  • CSCS Card

  • Salary: £13- £16.80 an hour
  • Working hours: 8- 5pm
