Operations Manager - Air Source Heat Pumps

£45,-000 -£55,000

Our client design is a highly innovative business who develop and manufacture Air Source Heat Pumps.

Purpose of the job:

To join the technical department, comprising of site surveyors, office based project administrators, product support engineers, in-house installation engineers and sub contracted installation parties. To manage and build, through process reviews and further recruitment in order to build a more robust process of design, installation and commissioning journey for customers of the business.

Main responsibilities and duties

  • Managing site surveyors, assessing the installation plans proposed to be carried out prior to projects being accepted.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, building regulations, and licence obligations.
  • Carry out site surveys, project installation plans, quote generations and commissioning's
  • Use data, to recognise trends to support analysis of individual and team performance to quickly understand and address reasons for under or over performance and build into regular conversations and coaching with individuals within the in house install teams and subcontracted parties.
  • Oversee day-to-day management, planning and coordination of the installation teams, including assessing site plans, measuring, performing relevant calculations and ordering required materials.
  • Manage the installation process from start to finish, providing technical guidance

  • Manage performance and quality of all subcontractors and operatives.
  • Provide onsite and office based training for all operatives to build and develop the

  • Implement robust quality control measures to assess the performance and workmanship of contractors.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and program requirements, maintaining a high level of quality in
  • all installation projects.
  • Establish a strong network of contractors to build lasting relationships with reliable
  • installers to ensure a steady and diverse workforce for the projects.
  • Ensure right first time execution of installation plans for full projects including.
  • In time, build the department, responsible for further recruitment in order to meet company growing demands.

Experience & training:

  • Qualified Level 3 plumbing and heating.
  • Unvented Cylinder G3.
  • Air Source Heat Pump Course.
  • Managing a team of operatives carrying out multiple installs while overseeing successful completion of on time results.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in an Operations Management / Project Management role within the ECO sector.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and direct labour teams.
  • Technical understanding of Air Source Heat Pump heating systems and working knowledge.
  • Must be competent on google platforms & Microsoft packages (Excel etc).
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness including financial and contract management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Experience within the ECO industry.
