Engineering Workshop Technician

Our client, an established global engineering company, is looking to recruit a motivated, proactive, and hands-on Workshop Technician to complete the assembly and testing of new products, inspection and refurbishment of existing products and maintenance of company equipment.

Once full training has been completed to a satisfactory standard, there will be opportunities to go offshore up to 4 to 8 weeks with a daily rate of £325.

Reporting directly to the Production Director, duties to include:

  • Carry out the assembly and where applicable test, of a wide range of equipment in accordance with Engineering Drawings and product specifications.
  • Operating power and hand tools (grinders, drills, belt sanders, etc.)
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts and trouble shoot product where needed.
  • Assembly of a range of mechanical connectors and lifting tools
  • Operating HPUs including stripping down and reassembling hydraulic cylinders
  • Maintenance of workshop equipment
  • Cleaning and maintenance of work areas
  • Uphold the company HSSEQ Procedures

As an ideal applicant you will have experience within an industrial engineering environment with the ability to carry out engineering tasks to a high standard, experience of working with hand and power tools is essential. You will also possess a meticulous work ethic, excellent communication, analytical qualities and a positive, "can do" attitude. A current forklift licence and Gantry crane certificates would be an advantage.
