DCS Engineering recruitment are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Programmer for one of our clients based in Lancashire who are a market leading sub contract CNC manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing and optimising existing programmes using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software. This role requires expertise in precision measurement, Engineering drawing reading, and GD&T interpretation to ensure high-quality inspection of machined parts and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimise CMM programs using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software to inspect precision parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to establish measurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues and improve processes.
  • Generate inspection reports and document quality findings using standard reporting formats.
  • Work with quality and production teams to analyse trends, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices in metrology and quality inspection techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in CMM programming, preferably using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and metrology principles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and make necessary program adjustments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
