Specialty DoctorPreston30 hours per weekPermanentAs a Specialty Doctor, you will collaborate closely with a team of Consultant Psychiatrists, fellow Specialty Doctors, and a skilled Multi-Disciplinary Team. This role presents an excellent opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge and experience, working alongside seasoned consultants and clinicians. Our team values a multidisciplinary approach, allowing you to engage in diverse clinical practices beyond the typical NHS scope.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of patient admissions and discharges.
  • Provide day-to-day management of patients on the ward, including conducting risk assessments, coordinating with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), performing outcome measurements, and reviewing physical health.
  • Conduct prompt mental health assessments, and generate detailed reports and clinical summaries. Proficiency in ICT is essential for using our electronic records system (Carenotes) and producing reports.
  • Participate actively in audits, research initiatives, quality and performance management, and other relevant clinical and professional activities.

Requirements:

  • A medical degree (MB ChB or equivalent).
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a busy workload.
  • A genuine commitment to patient care and an interest in contributing to the development of mental health services.
