Your new companyThis school has approached Hays looking to secure a Primary School Teacher for Year 2 on a full-time basis to cover maternity leave running from after half-term through till Summer. The school is rated OFSTED good and has an established senior leadership team who will offer ongoing guidance and support if needed. This year 2 class has a diverse range of pupils from different backgrounds, with various levels of ability, making this an ideal class for a newly qualified teacher. Your new roleAs the full-time teacher of the school's year 2 class, you will have full teaching responsibilities and have the assistance of a teaching assistant whilst planning and delivering the lessons. You will be teaching the students SPAG, reading and maths, getting them ready to take SATS within these subjects. You need to ensure that all lessons are fun and interactive, which motivates the children to participate and learn more. You will also be required to mark and assess work as this will be a long-term role.You will want to strive for academic growth for the children in your class and feel confident in tailoring materials to suit the ability and learning style of individual pupils.What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status and have good knowledge of the KS1 Curriculum. You need to be a good team player, have good time management and behaviour management skills.
