Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Summary: The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and supports the inspection of precision machined parts. Responsibilities include conducting first-off, final, and batch inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards. The role is adaptable and may change to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect parts using CMM machinery and manual precision tools (micrometers, Verniers).

  • Perform first-off and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and refine inspection processes.

  • Ensure all components conform to drawing tolerances.

  • Report non-conformance issues (NCR) and follow company procedures.

  • Maintain calibrated and functional inspection equipment.

  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues promptly.

  • Work with Quality Engineers to provide data for Corrective Actions (CA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in precision engineering and assembly.

  • Strong knowledge of CMM machinery and manual measuring tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ERP/MRP systems (IFS preferred).

  • Proficient with Office 365 applications.

  • CMM programming knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not required.
