Procurement Engineer

Buyer; 6 month contract; based in Blackburn; 37 hours a week; £21.38 per hour PAYE An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to working in a busy team based at Samlesbury. This role would suit someone who is able to handle data who is good with details and has strong analytical skills. The individual applying for this role needs to be capable of carrying out tasks in a fast paced environment as the team deals with high volumes of transactions. You need to be a clear communicator, diligent at correct data inputting, able to follow processes and be adaptable to the requirements of the customer, good problem solving skills and be able to work to clear timescales. We work to clear processes and have to use creative thinking to resolve issues. This is a team of experienced buyers who can facilitate any system training required. Any previous experience of Purchasing would be a great advantage. Key duties; - Issuing RFQ's to suppliers and uploading the quotes - Attending meetings with internal customers to report on RFQ progress - Raising purchase orders - Issuing order books to suppliers - Chasing and uploading the suppliers information to ensure the orders are always up to date - Dealing with multiple internal customer team enquiries, dealing with multiple external suppliers - Attending regular order book calls with suppliers - Processing invoices through to payment - Resolving queries to clear and prevent any aged debt - Working as part of a team of Buyers and supporting other buyers workloads due to flux in workflow. The role will require someone with energy for a fast paced environment, clear communicator, diligent at correct data inputting, good at working to clear processes, adaptable to the requirements of the customer, good problem solving skills and be able to work to clear timescales. Any previous experience of Purchasing would be a great advantage and good understanding of ERP systems. The jobholder will be proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOK ups as the role will involve inputting, processing and analysing data and issuing data to suppliers. Good customer management skills are required along with a great eye for detail. You will be able to pick up new IT systems with a continuous improvement mindset.
