Quantity Surveying Opportunity

Location: Preston
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (Full Package)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a capable Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) consultancy. With several years of secured work ahead, this role is ideal for an ambitious individual who desires to with a senior team of professionals and take part in the early years of what promises to be a highly successful business.


The consultancy team is renowned for delivering projects across various sectors, including Commercial, Leisure, Retail, and Residential. Currently, there is a strong focus on delivering projects within the Industrial and Warehousing sectors.


As a PQS, you will play a crucial role in the construction and infrastructure sectors, ensuring projects are completed within budget and meet the required quality standards. The core responsibilities of this role include:

Core Responsibilities:
  • Producing cost plans
  • Contract administration
  • Procurement
  • Managing project delivery through to final account
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying and at least three years of relevant PQS experience. They should be able to demonstrate key skills across the entire construction process.


Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills to evaluate complex financial data.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accurate cost estimation and reporting.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, contract law, and procurement methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address and mitigate project risks and issues.
