We are looking for a dedicated Catering Supervisor to oversee the planning of seasonal menus and manage the daily operations of our catering facility. Working closely with the Catering Services Manager, you will be responsible for ordering stock, controlling inventory, and ensuring the preparation and service of meals meet our high standards of quality and hygiene.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee the catering function within the specific facility.
  • Plan and design seasonal menus, schedule recipes, and order stock within the meal allowance budget in conjunction with the Catering Services Manager.
  • Liaise with the Catering Services Manager for stock ordering to ensure it aligns with advised usage.
  • Prepare meals daily, batch cooking as necessary to ensure food is served fresh and at appropriate temperatures.
  • Guide and direct Food Service Assistants in food preparation, start-up, and close-down duties.
  • Maintain accurate records of food purchases and sales.
  • Uphold the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen, ensuring cleaning schedules and checks are completed and recorded.
  • Assist in cleaning the kitchen area, including floors, cookers, and storage facilities, and perform deep cleaning as required.
  • Ensure the dining area and tables are cleaned during and after meal service times.
  • Handle cash and record transactions securely until banking.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness, hygiene, and a tidy appearance.
  • Report any accidents/incidents immediately and complete all necessary documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in catering or a similar role.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to lead and direct a team.
  • Competency in record-keeping and cash handling.
  • Excellent communication skills.
