SEO Specialist

Are you a seasoned SEO expert ready to take on a dynamic role within a multi-business environment? Forward Role are supporting our client operating within the Engineering sector to recruit a Group SEO Specialist to lead & innovate, and optimise SEO strategies as part of an internal marketing function.

Off-boarding the SEO accounts from agency and bringing in-house, you will be ‘hands on' across most aspects of SEO inclusive of on-page, off-page and technical SEO. Working as part of a small, close-knit and friendly marketing team, you will be reporting directly into the Group Marketing Director to build the overarching SEO strategy!

Key Responsibilities:

  • SEO Strategy Development:
    • Create and implement tailored SEO strategies for multiple companies within the group.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, algorithm changes, and best practices.
  • On-Page SEO:
    • Optimise website content, metadata, and internal linking structures.
    • Ensure content aligns with SEO best practices while maintaining brand voice and user experience.
  • Technical SEO:
    • Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix technical issues such as crawl errors and page speed.
    • Ensure websites are mobile-friendly and optimised for search engine crawlability.
  • Keyword Research & Content Optimisation:
    • Perform keyword research using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Keyword Planner.
    • Collaborate with content teams to produce SEO-optimised blogs, product descriptions, and web pages.
  • Link-Building & Outreach:
    • Develop and execute off-page strategies, including link-building campaigns and partnerships.
    • Strengthen domain authority through ethical and effective outreach practices.
  • Competitor Analysis:
    • Monitor competitor SEO strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with divisional marketing teams, content creators, and developers to integrate SEO strategies into broader marketing initiatives.
    • Align efforts with social media, paid search, and other digital marketing activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience & Education:
    • 2+ years of SEO experience, ideally in a multi-site, agency, or multi-business environment.
    • A degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field is beneficial but not essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
    • Strong understanding of both on-page and off-page SEO techniques.
    • Experience with technical SEO, including site audits, mobile optimisation, and HTML/CSS.
  • Attributes:
    • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to adapt strategies for different industries and markets.
    • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
