Are you an inspiring English teacher with a passion for fostering a love of literature and language in secondary school students? A welcoming and thriving secondary school in Preston is looking for a skilled and dedicated English Teacher to join their team.

About the Role:This long-term role is expected to run until summer 2025, with the possibility of extension and a potential permanent position for the right candidate. You will deliver engaging and creative English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, helping them to achieve their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons.
  • Assess and track student progress, ensuring all students meet their targets.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Collaborate with the wider teaching team to enhance the English curriculum.

Requirements:To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Relevant Teaching Qualifications and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching or tutoring English at secondary school level (KS3/KS4).
  • A proven track record of effective behaviour management in the classroom.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
