The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Full Time Tutor to provide high-quality tuition in Maths and English to students across Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) and Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) in Walton-le-Dale, Preston. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students, identify their individual learning needs, and deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions to help them achieve their full academic potential within the UK National Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and tailored tutoring sessions in Maths and English to KS2 and KS3 students, aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
- Assess students' current learning levels, identify areas for improvement in numeracy and literacy, and set achievable learning targets.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Provide constructive feedback and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates and supports students.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student outcomes.
- Adhere to any safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities (if applicable).
About You:
- Proven experience as a tutor or teacher, specifically working with KS2 and/or KS3 students in Maths and English within the UK education system.
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Maths and English at Key Stages 2 and 3.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students of varying ages and abilities.
- Ability to explain mathematical and English concepts clearly and concisely.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed in their education in the UK.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS), tutoring qualification, or degree in Maths, English, Education, or a related field is desirable.
Desirable:
- Experience working with students with learning differences or special educational needs (SEND).
- Familiarity with different assessment methods and tracking progress within the UK system.
- Experience delivering online tutoring sessions.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate on the update service (if applicable).
Location: Walton-le-Dale, Preston, Lancashire, UK
Contract Type: Full Time
Salary: £35 to £50 per hour. FT.
Start Date: 23/04/2025.
