We're looking for a dynamic and talented English teacher to join our team in Preston! Your commitment and expertise will be vital in motivating and guiding our KS3 and KS4 students. In exchange, you'll enjoy a competitive daily rate ranging from £155 to £230, based on your experience, qualifications, and teaching excellence.

In this role, you will design and deliver captivating lessons focusing on developing students reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will engage students with a variety of texts, encouraging critical thinking and creativity while fostering an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. You will also be assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with fellow educators to enhance the curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays
  • Using imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience in children
  • Having control over the whole class and maintaining discipline
  • Adhering to the curriculum, including up to date changes in the structure
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • Punctual and reliable

Preferred Skills:

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal Attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
