Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic Maths Teacher to join a school in Preston on a long-term basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to inspire and motivate students.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management to ensure a constructive learning environment.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as tutoring sessions and clubs, if applicable.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model for students.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to be trustworthy, patient, and confident when working with children.
