Housing Support WorkerPrestonIndependent Living ServicePermanent ContractPart Time (3 days)£15,000 per year (pro rata)We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker on behalf of a Housing Association in Preston. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and well-maintained living environment. The role is initially part time, working 3 days per week, but with the opportunity to become full time.THE ROLEAs a Housing Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to individuals, working in a person-centred manner to meet a range of needs.Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals with daily living tasks such as medication prompts, budgeting, and attending appointments.
  • Working closely with individuals facing high levels of drug and alcohol dependency.
  • Monitoring and promoting safeguarding practices, raising concerns as necessary.
  • Liaising with external professionals and agencies to address tenant needs.
  • Inspecting and maintaining properties to ensure safety and readiness for new tenants.
  • Addressing neighbour disputes and tenancy issues with the Housing Officer or Manager.
  • Participating in training and team meetings to improve service delivery.

THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, working with vulnerable individuals in a housing-related capacity.We are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection (GDPR).
  • Experience in property maintenance or housing management.
  • The ability to work flexibly under pressure and to deadlines.
  • A caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach.

THE CONTRACT

  • Part Time (3 days, 9-5)
  • Chance to become full time
  • Permanent Contract.
  • £15,000.00 per year pro rata, plus benefits.
