We have a fantastic locum social work opportunity based within a Childrens MASH team based in the Preston, Lancashire area. Working in MASH you will be centrally located with colleagues who are passionate about delivering the best possible service to children, young people and their families.Benefits:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining relationships with a variety of different teams and local authorities
  • Gathering and collating relevant information with our partner agencies.
  • Analysing the information to make professional judgements and recommendations
  • Working within referral and assessment teams or screening team taking referrals about children who are at risk of significant harm (sec 47 Children's Act 1989)
  • Screening for children involved in domestic abuse
  • Undertaking s17 assessment and intervention with children and families

To be considered for the Social Worker role you ideally will have:

  • Have 2 years' experience of working within a similar social work setting
  • Be child-focused and able to implement relationship-based and systemic-based practices
  • Have a good knowledge of the issues and risks faced by children in care and the procedures to manage these
  • Work well individually and within a team
