Reed/LTA are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Preston-based primary school. This part-time role involves working 1:1 with a child in reception with SEND needs. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing approach and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment and experience 

  • Job Type: Part-time (Mornings only, 8:40 AM - 12:00 PM) The pay an hour is £13.43. 
Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering lessons that cater to a range of abilities, including support for SEN students.
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions as needed, particularly for children who require additional help.
  • Help to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages all children to participate.
  • Monitor and support the children’s social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom management and organisation, ensuring resources are ready for activities.
  • Support the teacher in assessing the progress of students and providing feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly in early years.
  • Understanding of the needs of SEN children and strategies to support their learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage children in learning activities.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.
