Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis in Preston. The role involves working Monday to Friday mornings only, providing crucial support to students with special educational needs (SEN). This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a flexible role with an immediate start.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in the classroom during morning lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group assistance, helping children to engage with the curriculum and make progress.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Help manage behavior and encourage positive social and emotional development.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
