If so, Tradewind Recruitment invites you to join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide day-to-day or short-term cover in schools across the Preston area, including primary, secondary, PRU (Pupil Referral Units), and alternative provisions.

Daily rates of pay available from £85 - £105, dependent upon experience and level of role/ qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide support to students with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs, such as autism, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties
  • Adapt to different school settings, including primary, secondary, PRU, and alternative provisions.
  • Be flexible and available for day-to-day or short-term assignments.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with children with special educational needs and a desire to contribute to their development.
  • Flexibility and willingness to commute within Preston and surrounding areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting is an advantage.
  • Level 2, 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualifications or relevant degree honours are highly sought after by our schools.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

In order to register with Tradewind to work as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will need to:

  • Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure - or hold a DBS currently subscribed to DBS Update Service.
  • Provide overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and undergo professional reference checks.
  • Ensure your CV covers all employment and education since leaving secondary school.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
