We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teacher for a maternity cover position at a well-regarded secondary special school in Preston. This role involves working with higher ability Key Stage 4 students, delivering a tailored curriculum that fosters both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of higher ability KS4 students with SEND.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure individual learning objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff, therapists, and parents, to create a supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback on student progress.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in teaching students with SEND.
- Strong understanding of the KS4 curriculum and the ability to differentiate content to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience working in a special school setting.
- Additional qualifications or training in SEND education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
