Salary/Package - £25,000 - £29,500 dependent on experience, Working Pension, 24 days holiday excluding Banks, Van/Fuel card, PPE/Tools, Sick pay

Location / Working Hours – Preston, 7:30am - 4pm, half hour for lunch (with flexibility) Overtime Paid - Double Time all the time!!

My client specialise in all types of Health Sector projects, ranging from full ward refurbishments, change of use, general facilities and building maintenance. Your all-encompassing partner for commercial building solutions. Purpose of the role

To complete tasks in relation to building maintenance (both reactive and planned) as well as refurbishment work on commercial buildings in accordance with specifications, building regs and to a high standard.

This role WILL require travel throughout the North West and up to Cumbria. VERY rarely travel may take you to Solihull & North Wales.

Key Duties

  • All round knowledge and experience of undertaking general building / maintenance tasks.
  • To ensure all relevant paperwork is completed to assist in all processes, eg Time Sheets, Job Logic, relevant forms to support company-wide processes.
  • To support the Facilities Management Team to ensure compliance with all regulations and legislative responsibilities associated with customer sites, eg Legionella, Asbestos, Fire Safety etc.
  • To ensure health & safety checks including fire alarm testing, legionella flushing, emergency light testing, and site safety/security checks are carried out regularly at customer sites, maintaining the safety and welfare of members of the public and staff.
  • To carry out a preventative, planned maintenance program and undertake routine inspections of the premises, fixtures, fittings, utility meters, and grounds.
  • To carry out repairs, maintenance, improvement works and inspections to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises.
  • To carry out repairs and or make safe to any customer in-patient sites following service user damage.
  • To act as a contact for Contractors attending sites, ensuring they are fully aware of the customer’s attendance procedures, that they will follow full H&S procedures/risk assessments and permits to work are issued/reviewed where required. To ensure keys, access cards and access codes/fobs are signed out and recovered according to procedures, to maintain security of buildings.
  • To provide information and advice on maintenance issues to staff and line manager, as requested.
  • To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required as part of the facilities management service.

You must have or hold:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CSCS

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
