Our client, a leading automotive company, is looking to recruit a self-motivated, professional, and skilled Motor Mechanic, responsible for performing all levels of maintenance and repair work on vehicles, including diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of engines, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, duties to include:

  • Perform maintenance and service on vehicles, such as oil changes, tire rotations/changes, and brake checks
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles
  • Inspect and test vehicles to ensure they are safe for use
  • Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts and equipment
  • Communicate with customers regarding vehicle issues and repairs
  • Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective parts
  • Carrying out MOTs

As a successful candidate you will have at least 3 years previous experience within car or commercial vehicle maintenance and possess an excellent knowledge of automotive tools and diagnostic equipment, experience carrying out MOTs could be beneficial but not essential. You will also be self-motivated, reliable, possess excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills together with the ability to plan and manage your own workload efficiently. An NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be an advantage.
