Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established organisation based in Preston as a Maintenance Technician on a full-time permanent basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working closely with other Technicians, Operators, Team Leaders and Managers
  • Working safely and always promotes safe working practices and in compliance with national and company standards
  • Maintaining plant and equipment such as reaction/mixing vessels, decant stations and pumping systems
  • Conducting safety and condition checks on plant and equipment across the site
  • Ensuring that reactive and preventive maintenance work lists are completed on time
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with all company procedures including maintenance procedures, permits, risk assessments and method statements
  • Help create and develop standard maintenance operating procedures
  • Conducting relevant risk assessments in conjunction with the compliance team
  • Providing effective administration and work within the Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Systems
  • Supporting other members of the Engineering Team with the feasibility, specification, procurement and installation of new plant and equipment

Skills and experience

  • Relevant qualifications in maintenance, such as a national diploma, apprentice, or NVQ
  • Min. 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, including P&IDs
  • Competent IT skills
  • Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulation 2002 awareness
  • Pipework and Instrumentation Diagram Awareness
