First People Solutions is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established civils contractor based in Ayrshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family run company renowned for delivering high-quality civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects across Scotland.
The Role:
Reporting into the Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial and contractual success of a variety of civil and rail projects. From tendering through to project completion, you will work closely with project teams to deliver cost-effective and commercially sound outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
- Manage project budgets and prepare accurate cost forecasts.
- Measure and value work completed on-site and ensure timely payments.
- Provide commercial advice and support to project teams.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Produce detailed reports on project performance and profitability.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering, rail, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
