Our client, a leading accountancy firm in Prestwick, is on the hunt for a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of managing bookkeeping and prepping accounts for a wide range of clients. Ready to make an impact?
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage bookkeeping and accounts preparation for a variety of clients.
- Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements, and self-assessment tax returns.
- Liaise regularly with clients and HMRC to address queries, provide updates, and offer professional advice.
- Support the payroll function for clients, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- General admin duties, including answering phones and reception duties.
What we Need From you:
- Minimum 2 years of experience (accounting practice preferred but not essential).
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and MS Excel is essential.
- Solid understanding of current accounting regulations, including VAT and tax submissions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professional client relationships.
- AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/ACA is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
