Our client, a leading accountancy firm in Prestwick, is on the hunt for a skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of managing bookkeeping and prepping accounts for a wide range of clients. Ready to make an impact?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping and accounts preparation for a variety of clients.
  • Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, financial statements, and self-assessment tax returns.
  • Liaise regularly with clients and HMRC to address queries, provide updates, and offer professional advice.
  • Support the payroll function for clients, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • General admin duties, including answering phones and reception duties.

What we Need From you:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience (accounting practice preferred but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software and MS Excel is essential.
  • Solid understanding of current accounting regulations, including VAT and tax submissions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professional client relationships.
  • AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/ACA is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
