About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join a dynamic finance team for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This is a high-impact role, providing critical financial management and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while delivering high-quality financial services to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the production of management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to budget holders and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely preparation of annual reports, VAT returns, and other statutory filings.
  • Lead treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and maintaining investment models.
  • Oversee sub-ledgers, including purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, and nominal ledger.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead system upgrades and refinements.
  • Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors.
  • Coordinate and manage insurance requirements for the organization.

About You:

  • A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • Proven experience in managing finance teams and delivering high-quality financial reports.
  • Strong knowledge of financial legislation and accounting standards.
  • Experience in preparing VAT returns (including partial exemption is desirable).
  • Proficient in computerized accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with charity accounts, funds management, or systems implementation is a plus.
