- Curriculum Planning and Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging maths curriculum that aligns with the educational standards and objectives
- Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities within the classroom
- Classroom Instruction:
- Deliver effective and stimulating maths lessons to secondary school students
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding and engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation and collaboration
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Regularly assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and guide them towards improvement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades and achievements
- Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of ability and learning styles
- Provide additional support or challenges for students as needed to ensure academic success for all
- Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and address any concerns
- Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in mathematics education
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on maths
- Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
