We're seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Leeds. Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
Develop and implement an inspiring curriculum that nurtures students' musical skills and appreciation.
Teach a range of musical disciplines, including theory, composition, performance, and music technology.
Encourage student participation in extracurricular music activities such as choir, orchestra, and school productions.
Organise and support school concerts, performances, and external music events.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Person Specification

Essential:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree in Music or a related subject.
Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting.
Strong instrumental and/or vocal skills with the ability to demonstrate and perform.
Excellent knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Music.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

Desirable:

Experience teaching A-Level Music or BTEC Music courses.
Experience leading extracurricular music activities and school performances.
Knowledge of a broad range of musical genres and cultural influences.
Ability to play multiple instruments.
