Job Overview:

Our client, a leading main contractor in Leeds, is seeking a skilled and driven Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years of post-graduation experience. Specialising in a diverse range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, offices, industrial, and retail & leisure, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the commercial processes and the ability to manage projects from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Project Delivery: Take ownership of the commercial aspects of projects, from conception to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contract terms with clients and the supply chain, ensuring agreements are in line with company policies and project goals.

Variation and Claim Management: Assess and manage variations, claims, and changes in scope to maintain project profitability and avoid disputes.

Cash Flow Management: Oversee and manage the project cash flow, including the preparation of cost forecasts and ensuring timely invoicing and payments.

Procurement: Manage the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.

Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractor payments, variations, and ensure accurate cost reports are produced for the project team and stakeholders.

Final Accounts: Prepare and finalise project accounts, ensuring all costs are captured and documented for project close-out.

Support to Estimating Team: Provide assistance to the Estimating team when required, supporting cost assessments and project tender submissions.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of post-graduation experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the fit-out and refurbishment sector.

Strong experience in commercial contract management and delivery.

Proven track record of managing project cash flow and subcontractor relations.

Experience in negotiating and managing variations and claims.

Proficient in preparing final accounts and cost reports.

Experience working on projects within one or more of the following sectors: education, healthcare, commercial & offices, industrial, retail & leisure.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external clients.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
