Are you a kind, patient, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team at a private day nursery in Pudsey, Leeds, to provide one-to-one support for children with a variety of needs, including Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to children with special educational needs in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Support the child's social, emotional, and developmental growth, ensuring they feel valued and understood.
  • Work closely with other team members, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Assist in the delivery of a broad and balanced early years curriculum tailored to each child's abilities and needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide emotional support to help children build confidence and develop key skills.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Demonstrate a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Be passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEN.
  • Possess a good understanding of the needs of children with Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, and SEMH.
  • Hold relevant qualifications in early years education or special educational needs (or be willing to work towards them).
  • Be a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently when required.
