Are you an experienced Senior Group Accountant with a wealth of knowledge in IFRS and consolidation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a significant impact as our client initiates a UK GAAP to IFRS transformation project. We are on the lookout for a highly motivated individual to ensure the accuracy and integrity of their external financial reporting going forward.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Group Accountant, you will take the lead in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of external financial reporting. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you'll oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, staying compliant with the latest IFRS updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, notes, and disclosures for all reporting periods.
- Stay updated on IFRS changes, assessing their impact on the Group.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and develop IFRS policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, particularly the actuarial department, to meet IFRS17 requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the month-end close process.
Must-Have Skills:
- IFRS Expertise: Extensive knowledge of IFRS and insurance accounting principles.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire accounting teams.
- Project Management: Strong skills in managing projects and optimising processes.
- Analytical & Communication: Excellent analytical abilities with effective communication skills.
What You Bring:
- Significant experience in insurance accounting with a focus on IFRS.
- ACA/ACCA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience.
- A solid understanding of industry trends and a commercial mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
This role can be fully remote or hybrid depending on your preference. You must be UK based and able to travel to the head office in West Sussex approximately 1 day per month
Salary is up to c£95K + Bonus + Benefits
