Design Engineer Main Objectives:
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of high voltage power conversion products and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power supply design and high voltage systems, eager to work on innovative technologies that power some of the most advanced applications in the world.
Design Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers to agree on unit specifications.
- Design and develop high voltage power conversion products to agreed-upon specifications.
- Investigate and research new design techniques (e.g., higher stability, lower noise, faster polarity reversing).
- Accurately document designs for manufacturing purposes.
- Ensure designs meet all specified requirements through testing, simulation, and calculations.
- Meet project timelines and milestones.
- Ensure that designs are cost-effective, designed for manufacturing and testing, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Focus on minimizing environmental impact through sustainable design practices (e.g., energy efficiency, repairability, lifecycle optimization).
- Take ownership of assigned projects from conception through to completion, and provide continued support after implementation.
- Contribute to the company’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Health and Safety management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
Design Engineer Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Strong knowledge of current components, technology, and manufacturing techniques.
- In-depth understanding of regulations and procedures, and how they affect design.
- Experience in UC design, particularly with analog control/systems, is desirable.
- Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with both colleagues and customers.
- A solid understanding of PCB layout and mechanical packaging constraints.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
- Familiarity with formal design procedures and methodologies (ISO 9001:2000).
- Experience in schematic capture using CADSTAR is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
