They are seeking a proactive and versatile Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join their dynamic team. Your RoleReporting to the Facilities & Security Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of daily maintenance tasks and contribute to larger projects to ensure our facilities operate at their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on generators, compressors, air conditioning units, and other essential systems.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections, including fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and water temperature checks.
- Handle minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical fixes (e.g., replacing light fittings, adding sockets), and general upkeep.
- Oversee waste management areas and coordinate contractor services for larger maintenance tasks.
- Respond to emergencies, ensuring swift action and arranging contractor support if required.
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist with larger facilities projects in collaboration with department managers and contractors.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong practical skills with a background in general maintenance or DIY.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems (qualifications in electrical work are a bonus).
- Proficiency in MS Office for maintaining service logs and schedules.
- Calm, pragmatic approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Health & Safety principles and regulations.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift and work at height when required.
- A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between sites is essential).
