About Us:With a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will have a robust background in managing underground infrastructure, utilities, and roadworks projects while ensuring the highest standards of health and safety.

Job Overview:As a Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on large infrastructure projects, including highways, utilities, and deep excavation works. You will provide leadership and guidance to a team of site supervisors and manage up to six microsites. Your experience with RAMS, planning, and health and safety will ensure that projects run smoothly and safely. You will also be directly reporting to the Project Manager and ensuring the timely, efficient, and compliant completion of all site-related activities.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Site Manager:

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Conduct daily site observations and trench inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for each phase of the project.
  • Maintain accurate site diaries and ensure all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Manage and oversee up to 6 microsites and ensure they are running efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
  • Oversee large infrastructure projects, including utilities, streetworks, 278 works, highways, and roadworks.
  • Lead deep excavation works while ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Manage the yard and ensure all equipment, tools, and materials are properly coordinated.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and report on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to site supervisors and ensure they are meeting their targets and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and any potential risks are mitigated.

Qualifications and Experience required for the Senior Site Manager:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification (essential).
  • Black CSCS Card (essential).
  • NVQ Level 6 or 7 in Construction Management or equivalent (essential).
  • Ideally, a health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Strong experience in underground infrastructure projects, including utilities, streetworks, and 278 works.
  • Extensive experience in managing highways, roadworks, and deep excavation works.
  • Strong knowledge of RAMS, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other software tools for planning, reporting, and documentation.
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, and execute complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Experience overseeing multiple sites simultaneously and reporting on progress to senior management.
