Seeking a Simulator Engineer - Shift Leader with 4 years+ relevant experience to join our client in West Sussex on a permanent basis.
You will oversee the day to day running and proactive maintenance of up to four commercial Full Flight Simulators (FFS) in the Training Facility, and will report to the Training Centre Maintenance Manager (TCMM).
You will provide leadership and training of more Junior Technicians, daily communication with Flight Crews and Instructor Pilots and writing RAMS when a unique task is required. This role also acts as the primary lead during a shift, with a focus on the management of others and the resolution of technical issues.

Salary: 53,400 plus a 2K shift allowance
Hours: 4 on 4 off (Either 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off OR 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
12 hour shifts. 7am - 7pm or 7pm to 7am
Flexibility to working is key for this role, to enable business 24/7 coverage. The role also involves carrying out ad hoc building maintenance duties as and when required.
Main Responsibilities of the Sim Engineer - Shift Leader:
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems and review/update the procedures in discussion with the TCMM.
- Take the lead in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Utilise the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
- Perform secondary duties e.g. calibrations, tool inspections etc.
- Perform advanced visual alignments.
- Carry out repairs in the workshop to include soldering and crimping.
- Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation
- Check Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results and mark them up.
- Ensure company quality management system processes are adhered to
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
- Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.

- Be familiar with Part ORA and CS-FSTD(A) regulations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Essential:
- Detailed understanding of Electrical / Electronic & Avionic systems.
- Detailed understanding of fault finding principles and corrective measures techniques.
- Working knowledge of both hydraulic & electrical motion and control loading systems.
- Detailed knowledge of simulator visual systems including Rockwell Collins and FSI systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of hardware, fault finding and repair.
- Knowledge and understanding of simulation software systems.
- Proactive completion of Preventative and Routine Maintenance activities.
- Planning and Approval of Qualification Test Guide (QTG) schedule.
- Development of company processes providing improved efficiency and maintenance delivery.
- Already holds the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions. No sponsorships can be provided.
Desirable:
- Experience of working on Boeing and/or Airbus simulators particularly B737 & A320 simulators.
- Experience of CAE, FSI and/or Sim Industries, TRU, L3 Training Devices
- Previous Leadership experience
- Experience gained in a customer support or client facing role
- HNC/HND in aircraft related discipline
- HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
